What people ask for in Mojácar
Only about 1,300 people live in the village of Mojácar. Most live in other settlements, such as Las Ventanicas-El Cantal or Vista de los Ángeles-Rumina, with more than 2,000 residents each. Mojácar has had a local plan (PGOU) since 2023, published in the official gazette of the Junta de Andalucía, the regional government (BOJA no. 143, of 27 July 2023); until then the 1987 normas subsidiarias (subsidiary planning rules) applied. The approval was partial and left four areas of land out, so before you buy we check the classification of the plot. Near the Las Pilas-Mojácar la Vieja archaeological zone, a Bien de Interés Cultural (listed heritage site) since 2000, we also check heritage protection.

Where do I apply for a building licence in Mojácar?
At Mojácar town hall, which has its planning office in the Plaza del Ayuntamiento and an electronic office. It has its own forms for a major works licence (licencia de obra mayor), a responsible declaration for works (declaración responsable de obras) and a first occupancy licence (licencia de primera ocupación).
